trancePort, or the flyingDutchman; site-specific project by oleksander gnylytsky and the newly founded iut-team, held in odessa, ukraine; this interdisciplinary experiment took place over a weekend at various locations. rented trams connected two exhibition-places, a concert hall, a beach-discotheque and an outdoor-rave in the park, next to the legendary "potemkin" stairs. a historical tram (once starring in a soviet cult-movie) and a new one, hosting a mobile photo-exhibition by serhiy bratkov, were carrying people from venue to venue.... the participants of this urban invasion were numerous ukrainian artists, german DJs and musicians, like label bosses michael reinboth (compost) and upstart (diskoB) and electronic music legend robert gorl (DAF).
